Improving Your Ability to Remember

  • Take notes and write messages to yourself.
  • If you are having difficulty with dates, keep a small calendar in your pocket.
  • Avoid situations where you have to split your attention.
  • Relate new information to old memories; i.e., Dr. Finegan–Finegan’s Rainbow.
  • Have only one place to put frequently used items (i.e., keys) and always use that special place.
  • Items that have to be taken somewhere out of the house should be placed by the door.
