HOW TO ACCESS THE SYSTEM

The MSP Critical Incident Response Team may be activated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  For assistance, please call.

CRITICAL INCIDENTS

A critical incident is any situation faced by MSP personnel that causes them to experience unusually strong emotional reactions which have the potential to interfere with their ability to function either at the scene or later.

Some examples of critical incidents include: suicides, death of an employee, serious injury, media interest in the event, prolonged events, injury or death of children, mass casualty incidents, threats to MSP personnel’s safety and natural disasters.

WHEN TO REQUEST THE CRITICAL INCIDENT RESPONSE TEAM

You should contact the Headquarters Duty Officer about the need for services any time you or one of your fellow workers are having difficulty dealing with an incident or when the nature of the incident suggests that intervention might be useful.  The Headquarters DO (410.653.4200) will then contact the Department’s Medical Director’s (410.653.4300), or his appointed designee (Dr. Alves, Dr. Finegan (443.677.3710) for transmission of information.
